Implemented Projects:
GHF has performed many diversified projects in many different states in Sudan:-
- Primary Health Care:
GHF is now managing 29 clinics for IDPs in different states equipped with the primary medicines and medical devices and tools. The clinics provide curative and vaccination services and health education. The number of beneficiaries benefitting from these services is 120,000 monthly.
2- Nutrition Services:
GHF is managing 17 nutrition centers in Khartoum State and other states equipped within the primary tools for providing the meals and weigh and length measurement devices for fewer than 5 children. The centers also provide medical treatment for children with malnutrition (Severe, average, and Simple), in addition to PHC services for pregnant and lactating women through dry nutrition programs. The beneficiaries' number is 23000 individual annually in Khartoum state and 1989 individual in other states. Food distribution activities were conducted in different locations and the amount distributed was 2208 metric ton.
3- Relief & Emergency Projects:
GHF is participating in distributing relief materials on behalf of WFP in a number of Sudan states in cooperation with NGOs working in every concerned area and this relief is considered the backbone that GHF is relying on in implementing its projects. GHF is the main supervisor for the nutrition materials funded by WFP and other donors and the beneficiaries' numbers 34076 individual annually for 6200 metric ton.
4- Education:
GHF supported education in Upper Nile and Malakal states where it provided breakfast meals for pupils at schools at the IDPs camps and that's to encourage them continue coming to school for education. The number of beneficiaries is 1989 pupil for 191 metric ton.
5- Environmental Sanitation:
GHF is performing environmental sanitation projects in several states to retain the health and environmental status.
6- Diarrhea Fighting:
GHF provide continuous health awareness lectures and sessions through all its health activities, programs, and campaigns, in addition to the medical care and drugs provision.
7- Backed Treatment:
GHF supports two main categories; IDPs and poor families at the cities. And that is through the health centers and clinics available at IDPs camps and the charity clinics inside the cities. GHF is running more than 10 health centers and clinics in Khartoum and other states.
8- Leprosy Combating:
GHF contributed in curing large number of people with leprosy in Khartoum state through food provision and encouraging early treatment. Besides, GHF also supervise a leprosy treatment centre that treats more than 300 patients.
9- Care for Refugees:
GHF has a specialized unit for refugees founded in 1996, in which PHC services are provided to more than 43,977 refugee in 7 refugees camps (Eritrean and Ethiopian) in the frame of Voluntary Return program, and
Focusing the activities lately on 5 refugees camps.
GHF contributed and participated in this issue with medical cadres and managerial supervision in cooperation with UNHCR and Delegation Refugees for the success of the Program of Voluntary Return.
10-Specialized Hospitals:
The GHF runs a number of specialized hospitals as follows:
- Sara and Ghunaima Hospital:
for women and Children surgery, Khartoum 3rd deg. Extension.
- Alsabbah hospital for children in Juba:
Considered one of the largest medical institutions specialized in treating children in Sudan and it provides curative and preventive services in addition to PHC services for free, in addition, Monitoring malnutrition and providing indirect services for pregnant and lactating women.
